widget card

For bloggers and website owners a great way to share Swagbucks is the Swidget or Mini-Swidget. Not only does it easily let others know about Swagbucks.com, it also allows them to check on Swag Codes. Unfortunately the future of these widgets is uncertain.

Widgetbox, which is where the where the widgets are posted through, recently announced they will be closing at  the end of March 2014. This means that all of the widgets, including Swidget, Mini-Swidget,  and Swag Counter will stop working! (Currenty the only way to access the Swagbucks Swidget page is with a direct link). I have updated the Mini-Swidget and Swidget articles to reflect this change. Both of these can now posted by copying the non-widgetbox code available in the articles. One small downside is that you will have to manually change the username in both of these to create your referral link. If you follow the instructions though, it isn’t very hard.

I have also created a JavaScript/HTML version called the Mini-Swidget 2.0. Currently I am unable to create the code alert feature due to technical details on Swagbucks side. Check it out and let me know what you think or if you would be willing to test it out on your site!

If you have any questions or comments about the changes to the Swidgets feel free to contact me or leave a comment below.
